BALLET
At the Adele Stitch School of Dance we follow the syllabi of the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD). Tiny Tots ballet classes start at the age of three and then lead into Pre-Primary in Dance, Primary in Dance, Grades 1-7 and then into the Vocational Grades of Intermediate Foundation, Intermediate and Advanced 1. The RAD offers a series of examinations based on these syllabi which we encourage our students to take part in, however they are in no way compulsory. For older students thinking about higher education, RAD Exams are on the UCAS points tariff so students can use their ballet exams to help them get into university, regardless of the course they may choose to study. If you'd like to join our ballet classes contact us today.
Uniform for Ballet
The guidelines for uniform are clearly set out below, along with a video tutorial to help with those ballet buns. Dancing is a highly disciplined activity and so the rules must be followed. As the winter draws nearer and the temperatures drop, why not check out Dance Direct's latest range of warm up wear to keep you warm in class. We will not permit 'extra layers' in our syllabus classes unless they are our own school merchandise or specifically designed for dance. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

MODERN & TAP
At the Adele Stitch School of Dance we can offer you Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) classes in Modern and Tap Dance from Primary to Advanced 1. The Modern syllabi in the early stages are based on natural movements such as walking, running, jumping and skipping. It is designed to encourage an imaginative and rapid response from beginners. Boys work has been developed to meet increasing demand for modern dance training for boys. ISTD Exams are on the UCAS Points Tariff so students can use their Modern and Tap Exams to help them gain entry to university, regardless of the course they may have chosen to study. At Senior level, Jazz is designed to help with strength. The class starts off with a high energy warm-up, a limber of the legs, body conditioning exercises and travelling steps from the corner. This class should make you feel fresh, alive and assured that you've had a good work out. No examinations are done in this lesson. If you're interested in joining our Senior Jazz class, contact us today. We also have an adult Tap class too!
